Tasting: Ksana Bonarda

Name: Ksana Bonarda
Variety: Bonarda
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Year: 2008
Price: $9.95

Winery Review: The bouquet is floral and lightly jammy, with berry aromas and a
savory note or two. To the uninitiated, this is a great introduction to Bonarda. Finishes solid. Very sweet, berry smell with some rooty undertones. Kind of dry, makes your lips pucker.

My Review: This wine is very jammy smelling but the nose is misleading as on the palette, the Ksana Bonarda is floral in nature. Although tannic, this wine is lighter bodied. I think that it might be be a good wine to pair with a pork dish.

  1. Bonarda wines are interesting, but I don't see many!
Nicole, you seem to have a natural nose and palate!
